Welcome to the Museum of Moving Art. There are currently no exhibitions as we are still developing the platform. MOMA doesn't exist as a spacious public building, instead it is major international public artwork - somewhat ethereal and (as its name suggests) moving from place to place as well as being in more than one place at one time.

Work has begun on The Peopling of Fafifi ... the story of how a new society was created on an island in the South Pacific.
Originally conceived as street art with theatrical tendencies, the Museum of Moving Art has evolved into a composite artwork - an artwork comprised of other artworks.

At the core of MOMA is an expansive mesh of performance & visual art, pop-up spaces, story-telling, inter-connected role playing games (RPGs) built around a central narrative, physical board games, and video games (particularly flight simulation and open world co-op). Holding it all together is this wiki.

And why?
Having fun, socializing and being creative help to keep individuals healthy and communities strong.

By means of arts participation, MOMA seeks to explore the intersections between real life, fantasy and the digital realm in fun and inspiring ways. In order to achieve this we seek to facilitate face-to-face social interaction by using digital technology to bring people together for real, safe and rewarding social experiences - rather than enabling digital media addiction & social isolation in the virtual. The latter are real and present dangers posed by the widespread adoption of personal networked digital devices, the rise multinational technocratic oligarchies and the seemingly unchecked emergence of surveillance capitalism).

Art and artists always have important roles in communities and in societies, especially in times of crisis. The educated artist understands that the personal is political. The recent global pandemic has highlighted the need to address the importance of psychosocial health as a key determinant in the health of individuals and the societies in which they live.

By playing and being creative, humanity thrives!

How do you play?
You don't have to be an artist to play at MOMA, but if you want to, you can have fun pretending.

This wiki provides opportunities to make & play online games, and to connect with other player in the MOMA World. Entry level games allow beginning players to have fun by exploring a variety of roles, activities and story-lines (hint: the easiest role is Museum Visitor - you're doing it already). In more advanced levels of the physical stream, gameplay is directed to the creation and placement of pop-up installations and structures which have the capacity to move. This is co-ordinated by some players acting as curators and involves face-to-face interaction and outreach to artists in local communities.

Digital art is also being created, curated and exhibited here at this wiki.

Stories created in the physical games can be played out in the digital realm (and vice versa) as gameplay in open world simulation games such as Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 (MSFS 2020) via the use of addons & mods created at MOMA.

Currently good progress is being made researching the possibility of integrating the dramatic and cinematic potential of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 into the MOMA story world. It looks very promising!

Also the aviation theme is being developed as part of a physical table-top board game called The World of Art, with a virtual version to be played online at the https://tabletopia.com/ platform.

The more you play, the deeper you go. Find out how famous aviator Amelia Earhardt found her way into the MOMA story world, and how she is honoured on the Island of Patonga.

Would you like to have your image on that wall on the welcome page of MOMA?

Can you use layers, crop and re-size in Photoshop, GIMP or some other image editing app?

Watch this space. A simply digital art challenge coming soon ;-)

Welcome to the MOMA World

This is an experimental collaborative non-liner multi-dimensional story-telling space where the chicken creates the egg and the egg creates the chicken.

Best be aware, the difference between fact and fiction can be hard to discern as you venture deeper into the MOMA World ;-)

Work has begun on The Peopling of Fafifi ... the story of how a new society was created on an island in the South Pacific.
